Windblown Art

About Me

I guess you can call me a late bloomer.  I had always been a creative person, but it wasn't until I was almost 40 years old that I discovered who God had made me to be.  As a child, I had a 100 count set of artist crayons, they were one of my very favorite things. That began my passion with color and putting colors together along with drawing. But only in my late thirties, did I come to the realization of art, being the thread throughout my life, that I should embrace.

In my newly awakened creative journey, I went back to college and took lots of art classes and began attending workshops, trying all different types of media. But, it wasn't until several years later, after seeing an art magazine, about the art form called mixed media collage, that I found my niche.  I spent the next several years learning everything I could and experimenting with different techniques. The thrill of using printed papers, inks, paint, sequins and other various supplies, was like finding true love.

A lot of the inspiration for my art comes through times of prayer and Bible study.  Many of my paintings, have a garden or floral theme, expressing my belief that the Lord's original intent was for us is to have the intimacy with Him that Adam and Eve had in the garden.  I also like to use scripture, song lyrics, or quotes that will bring words of life to those who view my art.

My studio is in the beautiful Hill County of Texas outside Kerrville

Blessings,
